Went to a small reunion at my grandma's house yesterday

And I finally got the courage to go out with lashes

Other times when I did gal looks with lashes they were only at home cause I was afraid they could fall off while being outside so I only did gal inspired make when going out

I practiced a couple of times to get them right some days before to truly feel safe with them

And it worked out right! I finally got the ends of my lashes to stick

Enough talking! Let's get to the pics!

I'd love to do what cool gals do naming the brands of each item

But...

I can't bc it's all off brand!

Talk about being gal on a budget

But actually this is just my first year as a gal so I don't really own any brand yet

Gotta get a credit card soon to start ordering sum

My glasses get in the way so it's hard to see the make

Normally the top of the glasses are aligned with the beginning of my brows

But I had to put them a bit lower bc the lashes kept hitting them

It's gyaru 109 month!

this is my first gyaru event ever hope I can keep up with it until the end!

So let's start with the blogging challenge!

Carolina, call me Kyaro!(I've thought about Kyaroppi as well, you can use it if you like [I really like it cause it soinds like Keroppi hehe) and I'm from Chile!

Since when are you gyaru?

I think officially from the beggining of this year, about february that's when I realized that I was made for the community!

I wish I had discovered gyaru before cuse I feel like I would've been such a nice kogal back then

Without knowing it I was almost done to be kogalI never had any interactions with the style or gyaru before, I don't even remember seeing any gal on the anime I liked. Must've been a divine coincidence!

Point!

I wore different hairstyles to school every single daytwintails, braids, buns or a combination of them all! You name it! and of course wearing a cute scrunchie on them~

I wore leg warmers any time I could, even in summer!(I wore pants on winter tho so thats the exception w) just to look cute. Same as with the hair I wore different earrings and bracelets to complete the look while staying in line with the dress code

The one thing I was a bit more rebelious on was my nailsbecause we were from the older students we had a more chill inspector so I could get away with my glittery decorated nails most of the time.

I'd say the only thing that failed the divine plan of being gal was makeupI never wore makeup to school and my first approach to it was this year so... not much to say

How did you discover the style?

I did through reaserch for a small school project on ~2018I had to make a small fanzine about a topic of my choosing, so I choose japanese subcultures and fashion!

I added some that I already knew (like decora kei, menhera, lolita, etc.) and gave myself some time to discover some new stuffSo I looked up japanese fashion and streetwear on google and along other styles that I found I stumbled across Gyaru

I added kogal and manba to the zine but the style didn't quite resonate on me hehe here are the drawings from the zine

What's your current substyle? Why do you like it?

Rokku!Before getting into gal I was already into that kind of punk, dark fashion

The first time I did gal I tried just plain Gyaru kei with the leopard print and all but I wasn't feeling it so I felt sad and thought I didn't belong to gal 

Then I found a holy picture of あみはむ that saved meI thought "is this really gal?!?!It's too good to be true!!" So I made a comeback with it

What are your current booms? 

Skulls!I've been thinking of putting a skull on anything I can!!!Skull themed nail art, clothes with skulls on, earring and necklaces...I've also found myself drawing little skulls on my notes way more often than before

Get inspo from specific sources!

Looking at too many references pics let me overwhelmed so I didn't know what to do anymoreIf you have that problem as well try picking a favorite gal (in case you don't have one already) and try copying her style!With time you'll know how to modify it however you want and you'll get to an original shape!

Gal isn't just makeup or an aesthetic, but rather a lifestyle

You know how goths live their lifes like it's always halloween?It applies similarly to gal! It may be an important point, but remember that you dont stop being gal once you take off your lashesyou can still do gal activities such as blogging, dancing para para, going to karaoke, do your nails, etcFind a way to add gal in as many aspects of your life as you can!

I learned to acknolege that building a gyaru closet will take me probably years, same with perfectioning my makeup, but time will do it's flawsDon't get discouraged if you feel like the only thing you can do about gal is watching others, you'll time will ariveヾ(•ω•`)o

First gaijin gyaru I choose is LizzieI think she's the role model for most of (if not all of) gaijin galsshe gives amazing tips and writes amazing blog posts and her hime/kaji looks are very pretty but I looove how she pulls off rokku looks every once in a while Check her blog whenever you need fashion or makeup tips, or anything! She's so nice, we don't deserve her

Next I choose Reila!I love her fashion and makeup style she's too prettyReila also provides many cool tips for newer gals on the comunityShe's also one of the first latin american gals I ever found! I was so happy to know we have cool gyarus on this side of the world as wellI already added her blog at the beggining but here it is again!

Finally my biggest inspiration: Bara!She gives amazing tips and has participated in various events best part? she's a rokku gyaru!you bet I take inspiration from her a lot heheis there an even better part? She's chilean like me!!Her co*des are amazing as well as her makeup, prus she posts cool memes often so pleaso go check her insta here!(she doesn't have a blog)

Now for the japanese gals first we gave Chopa-sama!I'm not into doing mamba myself so I can't quite say her looks inspire me, but in this case it's about personality!She's so fun, charismatic and full of energy that the mamba style really suits her!Here's her channel so you can have a peek on her charisma too

Up next is MomoaShe's a model for egg and what stood out to me about her was her makeupshe really looks like a late 2000's- early 10's gal with that droopI'll try to replicate her look one dayI also really like her bc we're the same age (I'm a few months older tho hehe) and she kind of reminds me of Tomochin on some aspectsGo check her insta here!

Finally the one and only the one that with a single picture on google said to me "Keep going! Don't give up just yet!" and made me believe I still had hopes to become galあみはむ

She used to be an ageha model as well as for various brands, mainly sexpotrevenge to me she is the rokku/gosshiku galher looks were gorgeous and I heavily rely on her selfies to do my own makeup (i'm still figuring out) but overall she screams perfection to meIwould'nt have been writing this if it wasn't for her, I would'nt even have a blog!So please go check her old blog and have a fun read(tho if u want to see her rokku looks go over the oldest pages cause in the most recent ones she had already drifter away from gal)

Not only it made me learn more about gyaru but also encouraged me to try it!

What would do advice to people who want to start in the style but doesn't have the courage yet? 

Just try it! that's the only way you'll find out if its the thing for youMaybe don't start on make up or brand clothing if you can afford ittry easier stuff like opening a blog or learning some para para!It may take you some time to find your substyle or you may not enjoy being a gal yourself, but don't get your hopes downyou will find what works for you
